Miami Jackson Senior High vs. American Senior High
Thursday 9/20 played at Traz Powell Stadium
Jackson worked on its defense and its special teams to ensure a 30-6 victory over American High School on Thursday night at Traz Powell Stadium. The Jackson Generals (3-1), who lost to Carol City last week 19-15 in Week 2, regained its winning status last night with this victory. Junior quarterback Quinton “Winky” Flowers made for the Generals’ two trips to the end zone — a 1-yard plunge and a 35-yard strike to freshman Desmond Phillips — and completed 10 of 13 passes for 136 yards.
American (2-2) finished the night with 123 passing yards from sophomore quarterback Romy Gonzalez but finished with just 19 rushing yards and never had more than 25 total rushing yards at any point in the game. Neither team fared well offensively. Jackson although victorious they finished with minus-21 rushing yards and did not make it into positive yardage during the entire game.
