A Paul Mendez RBI
single would get the scoring going early for the Bison as Luis Rincon came into
score for the early 1-0 lead. In the second Reagan wasn’t done just yet
offensively, bringing in three runs on back to back base hits by Paul Mendez
and Joey Diaz. In fact, both Mendez and Diaz would drive in three runs while
Mendez had a perfect 5 for 5 day.
David Lara would put
the Gladiators on the board with a two-run homerun to cut the lead in half. A
Gaby Delarosa sac-fly in the bottom of the third would bring in David Martinez
to cut the Bison lead to 1.
But, Reagan would get
the lead right back in the top of the fourth; Joey Diaz would get one of his 4
base hits of the ball game as he would bring in Luis Rincon, Paul Mendez would
make it a three-run ball game by driving in Brandon Romero.
Yet, the Gladiators
remained fighters in the bottom of the frame capitalizing on an error bringing
in three runs on three hits to tie the game at 6.
In the top of the 7th
inning Joey Diaz would prove to be the hero as he singled in Luis Rincon and
the Bison never looked back; Doral Reagan wins 8-6
