former South Florida High School football stars receive rings in Super Bowl

been 38 years since Miami last held up a Super Bowl championship, but it
doesn’t mean former South Florida standouts didn’t hold the hardware this
Sunday.

Kenny Phillips, Miami Carol City
Phillips
attended Miami Carol City High School in Miami, Florida where he played safety.
As a senior in 2004, played free safety and finished with 84 tackles, six interceptions,
three fumble recoveries, four defensive touchdowns and three punt returns for
touchdowns. Phillips intercepted 16 passes during his high school career.

Antrel Rolle, South Dade High
Rolle
attended South Dade High School in Homestead, Florida. As a senior, on defense,
he posted three interceptions and 86 tackles. On offense, he had four
receptions for 160 yards (40.0 yards per rec. avg.) and a touchdown. As a
junior, on defense, he posted three interceptions, 85 tackles, and five pass
deflections, and he returned three kick-offs and three punts for touchdowns.

attended Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he graduated in

Jason Pierre-Paul, Deerfield Beach high
At Deerfield
Beach High School, Pierre-Paul lettered in basketball for four years and joined
the football team during junior year. After a serious leg injury while playing
basketball, he took up football his junior year of high school.
