When Mike Vinson is on
the mound the Explorers know that “run support” is more than enough to cruise
through victories. But, not when a team like Sunset tries to make a statement.
Sunset down 4-1 in the
bottom of the fourth inning would make sure that Vinson would not be the
pitcher of decision. They were able to muscle 3 runs via a Nicholas Machado
solo shot in the fourth and tying the ball game in the fifth off a 2 run
homerun (allowed by Bryan Garcia who relieved Vinson) by Michael Paez to tie
the game at 4.
In the top of the
sixth inning Columbus would leave the Sunset fans speechless. The explorers
would take them on the roller coaster ride they never asked for. A five run
inning via and RBI Sac fly off the bat of Lazaro Rivera and RBI base hits by
Chris Garabedian, Frank Navarette(2) and Danny Lynch would be more than enough
to give Bryan Garcia and the Explorers the victory.
