Goleman
starter Jorge Jaramillo doesn't need much run-support when he is on the rubber
and he showed it on Tuesday at Woody Woodword Field against Coral Gables. Seven
strong innings by Jaramillo carried Goleman to a 2-0 victory over Coral Gables
in seven innings.
Goleman held Coral Gables without a run while Jaramillo was on the mound. He
pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on six hits while striking out five.
Dillon Maya was a workhorse on the rubber for Coral Gables. Maya allowed two
earned runs, five hits and three walks while striking out two.
Carlos Sosa, Cory Garrastazu, Joshua Guia, Erick Delgado, and Kevin Gomez each
got hits for Goleman.
Goleman never surrendered the lead after the third inning, scoring two runs on
a sacrifice fly by Rolando Martinez and an RBI single by Guia.Goleman
improves their regular season record to 5-1 and own sole possession of first
place in the District.

Ley Sports Complex at the City of Homestead Tuesday at 7 p.m.
